April 22nd 2017 we held our first Old Choristers concert in the Cathedral. This new event was intended as a great opportunity for OCs to meet and sing together, as well as raising much needed funds for the Southern Cathedrals Festival, hosted by Winchester. Under Andy Lumsden’s leadership, over 40 OCs rehearsed through the morning in the Pilgrims’ Hall and the Undercroft, joining after lunch for a full run through in the Quire.  At 7pm we performed a programme of Hadley, Parry, Wesley, Vaughan Williams and Stanford amongst others, to a full audience – click here for a copy of the full programme for interest.
Our efforts were well received and we are already planning our next concert. You can read a brief account of the day in last year’s newsletter and as record of the day we have produced a CD recording of the performance.
